what an eventful 5-6 dec

my last day in the UK/flight home was rather interesting...

1. at 2.30am GMT 5 dec, received a call from will (my neighbour) saying they were having a party and asked if i would like to pop in. went there and apparently will was drunk (he had called quite a few other people - one of which was iain who was in lancaster) and he started doing the most hilarious things. like lighting two cigarettes at a go and flopping on the sofa, stopping mid-sentenced, uttering gibberish... paul even laughed so hard he nearly choked on his tea... correction: he sprayed his tea and then nearly choked on the rest. this resulted to lack of 45mins of sleep but all in all VERY worth it. :)

2. arrived at the airport 2hrs and 50mins before my flight (thanks to my wonderful driver josh) and didnt have to queue AT ALL. was laughing at all the people who were queueing at the SIA counter (which by the way had snaked) and their flight was an hour before me. my flight on the other hand was half-empty which meant i had 2 seats to myself! PRAISE GOD! so much made up for the flight from singapore to london the last time when i was stuck at the window with 2 girls between me and the aisle. amazingly my suitcase weighed only 14.5kg (again i reiterate AMAZING) and my handcarry backpack was really light and 1/4 empty. so unusual for me...

3. food was good on thai. sometimes thai's food is rather bleh but today's 2 meals plus snadwich snack was good! had the rice with fish and chicken strips (came with shrimp and pasta salad and a nice portion of cake), and mozzerella and mushroom quiche with sauteed mushrooms, bacon and roasted tomato (YUM). the sandwich snack was a pack of 3 mini sandwiches - cream cheese and smoked salmon, chicken mayo and a vegetable sandwich with peas, carrots and corn. the bangkok-singapore meal was fried rice (tasted like nasi goreng) with chicken sausage and a piece of chicken, accompanied by a serving of yummy fruit (FRESH pineapple!)

4. usually i dont watch thai airways' in-flight entertainment because it's just the big screen (i.e. no individual screens) but i loved the film 'Wool Cap' which they showed. it made me cry so much (i was trying not to show it... good thing they dimmed the lights). it's a show abt a mute old man and his relationship with this young black girl who is abandoned by her mother with him. (he's the 'super' of the building) and the journey that the 2 go through in their personal lives for two years. the tear-jerker was definitely when the old man's monkey was poisoned by some boys as revenge for him ratting on their illegal activities.

5. at the bangkok airport i decided to check out how much Clinique's eye liner was at duty free and was checking out the Shu Umera shelf as well when one of the sales staff (guy) was bending over a mirror and putting eyeshadow on. purple. he was so cute - and i mean in the 'ugly but adorable' way. he saw me and immediately in the gay-est way you can imagine, started to ask if i needed help and i said, no thanks i'm just looking around, and with that he broadly smiled, showing his braces, and went back to dolling his face. by the way, salesboy, i think that once your braces are done you'll look better. work on creating different tones for your eye colour by mixing purple with maybe a bit of blue or shimmery white. and use liner. :)

6. got home and my parents took me out to eat as much tofu as i wanted since i was saying i am tofu-deprived in the UK.

now that i'm back, it's time to settle last minute details of the big 25th wedding anniversary celebration this weekend... so exciting...

on a side note, i miss josh...
