I Praise God that He preserves lives

today something happened that put my perspective straight. during the day i was thinking all sorts of trivial things like how to make wei's birthday present look pretty or how to settle the air ticket problem that i had (i had purchased a ticket that was for the wrong date and it was non-refundable). but everything changed at 9pm.

a close friend of mine nearly died tonight in a car accident. had he not had his safety belt and an airbag he would not, at least, be walking away from the crash site. the road was slippery and he was turning a corner and lost control of the car as he tried to brake when he saw an oncoming car.

i was in shock and still am somewhat when the full reality of what could have happened hit me. i'm not going to go off about the fragility of life but just going to say that in every situation, i see God's hand of protection. despite how distraught all of us (he especially because it took him 4 months of hard work to save up for the car and he just spent more on servicing and new equipment), the verse that "in everything give thanks" keeps coming into my mind. i am so glad he is still alive, perhaps purely for selfish reasons. Heaven is a so much better place to be with but we are sad when a Christian dies because we are left behind, not because he has gone. God isnt done with using him so praise God that not only will he be restored but that God has greater plans for him...

Thank you God. Thank you that i still have my friend.
