Lobster Porridge at ITE East
tonight we went to ITE East (which is a 1min drive from my house - it's just literally down the road) for some lobster porridge at the in-house restaurant, Club 10. my parents had been there before and seen some other customers order the porridge and were interested in trying it for themselves.
one thing i have to say is about the service - was a bit annoyed because when we got there, we were given only 3 menus (2 for the chinese dishes and 1 for the japanese) to share between 4 of us, and 2 mins after we were seated, a pesky waitress came to take our order when we hadnt even had time to look through half the menu. tempers were mounting as she stood there pressurising us to order while interrupting us reading the menus with her rattling of the 'chef specials of the day'. over-zealous waitress? hmmm...
behold, the lobster porridge...
very soupy-and-ricey-ish. the lobster looked small. my mom thinks it's NOT LOBSTER (gasp!) but crayfish instead. yeaaaahh... did kind of taste like crayfish...
the soup was nice and stocky and there was a fair bit of crayfish. though i DO think that more rice would have been better. they DID have a nice garlic chilli (sourish) to go with the crayfish.
overall rating of food: 3.5 out of 5 (4 out of 5 for the porridge)
overall restaurant rating: 3 out of 5 (a bit too...hmm... well, they are a bit too eager to please... too intrusive...)
whether i will go back again? perhaps...
