back in warwick... tired but it was fun!

heeeyyy... flying back to london felt strange. because the past few times i have taken planes it was to go home to singapore and in some weird way it felt a bit disappointing that i wasnt landing in changi airport nor were my parents and jieyang going to be at the airport to greet me.

anyway... i had a blast! it was reaaaaaallly so much fun travelling in an all-girl trip. we ate sooooo much (now we are all apparently on diets but knowing me, i wonder how long that will last...) and laughed ourselves silly. went to addy's place today to get the pictures and videos and i was thoroughly tickled watching them over again.

i think this trip wasnt a 'let's see all the city/place has to offer... quick! to the tourist sites!' kind of a thing. it perhaps was very truly a holiday - with 5 girls just having fun and relaxing. considering a lot of the times we stayed up late, slept in and gorged ourselves (thanks to ana who ordered dessert EVERY MEAL even after we had appetizers and a HUGE main course, and wei who always ordered the largest main course dish)...

it was rather sad when wei and ana left the group to get back to london first and we headed off to budapest. first of all, we realised we had been spending WAY too much money so we went budget on food. and also because previously we had stayed in apartments for 5 and now we were in 10-bed hostel rooms. and i guess when you ahve more people, the trip is more fun. i think we had too much time to spend in budapest so that possibly contributed to the less than upbeat mood of the trip. but in the hostel (which by the way was so clean and quiet because it is a family-run place - more like an apartment that was converted to a hostel) i met an american guy who was a free-lance journalist and we talked about french literature and him living in vietnam for a year. he was touring eastern europe for 6 months hoping to get a job there because it is near impossible to get a job unless you are physically in the country. when we left his article for the budapest sun (newspaper) was being published the following week.

it feels nice to be back in warwick - i like campus when it is very empty. it'll be a good few days of rest and work (need to start on work that has to be done before school starts) and then off i go to belgium with my big brother.

on a depressing note, my mobile phone konked out. i had sent an sms to rachel lim and after it was sent the phone just suddenly died. and it still cannot be ressurrected. so for now, i have a temporary number (which is displayed on my MSN). thanks josh for lending me your pay-as-you-go line. my brother will probably pass me his pay-as-you-go after belgium because he still has credit on it and it might be wasted if i dont use. and tomorrow i have to call 3 to settle if it can get fixed. if only i can remember where i put the box that my handphone came in because if i remember correctly, there was a warranty card in it. sigh...

BUT... shall not let myself worry abt it. God's in control. He protected me during the trip. what is a spoilt handphone to the Creator? easy peasy... :)
